New Milwaukee-Eight Engine Offers More Power and More Comfort

It’s not every day that Harley-Davidson® introduces a completely new engine! Riders in the Lowell area will be happy to know that the Milwaukee Eight not only delivers more power and more performance – it also maintains the classic look and sound of a Harley-Davidson® V-Twin engine. Find out more about the next generation of Harley-Davidson® models equipped with the new Milwaukee-Eight V-Twin.

Milwaukee-Eight Overview

The new Milwaukee-Eight is the newest in a long line of Harley-Davidson® V-Twins such as the Flathead, Knucklehead, Panhead, Shovelhead, and Twin Cam. It’s offered in all new Harley-Davidson® Touring models, the Harley-Davidson® Trikes, and all models in the Harley-Davidson® CVO Lineup. What you need to know is that the Milwaukee-Eight delivers more power and performance, with no compromise in terms of fuel economy, look, feel, or ride quality when compared to previous engines.

Shaped By Rider Feedback

The Milwaukee-Eight is a product of rider feedback from dedicated Harley-Davidson® customers. What riders wanted was more power and better ride quality through lower temperature and reduced vibration. That might sound like a tall order, but Harley-Davidson® engineers have managed to pull it off.

Power and Performance

The new Milwaukee-Eight delivers more power thanks to greater displacement. The Touring and Trike model lines both get a 107 cubic inch model, while the CVO models receive a 114 cubic inch displacement. Displacement isn’t the only thing that helps the Milwaukee-Eight make more power. It also has a higher compression ratio, four valves, and dual spark plugs to help it produce power more efficiently. The Milwaukee-Eight 107 is available in an air-cooled and Twin-Cooled model with liquid cooling for the heads, while the 114 is only available in Twin-Cooled configuration.

Comfort and Ride Quality

Improved cooling goes a long way to provide a better ride quality. Thanks to better ventilation and an upgraded liquid cooling system, the area around the rider is cooler. To reduce vibration, Harley-Davidson® added a rubber mounting and counter-balancing. The new engine even has a slimmer profile, so it stays out of the way and better suits riders with a shorter inseam.
